
A large part of the chapters and filler scenes are eliminated (some are kept, such as when Trunks catches a Mecha Freeza Death Ball or the exaggerated amount of Kikoho that Tenshinhan throws at Cell). From the Majin-Boo Arc onwards, the soundtrack started to be in charge of Norihito Sumitomo, who would later also be in charge of 🐲 Dragon Ball Super. This change also affected the worldwide broadcasts of the series, as well as the home editions, due to accusations of plagiarism towards Kenji Yamamoto. In the last episodes, the soundtrack was changed to the original Dragon Ball Z soundtrack, composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi. The first episode begins with Bardock confronting Freeza, and Goku being sent to Earth🌎 all scenes taken from the special Dragon Ball Z: A Lone Final Battle -Who Defied Freeza, the father of Warrior Z Kacarrot. Starting with the Majin-Boo Arc, the aspect ratio is only available in 16:9. High-definition image with a choice of original 4:3 or 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and improved scenes (realigned, re-animated, re-colored, new backgrounds) re-recorded voices and sound effects shortened for greater fidelity to the manga, and new openings and endings, plus a new soundtrack. Internationally, this series is divided into two parts, Dragon Ball Z Kai and 🐲 Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters the latter in Japan is known as Dragon Ball Kai: Arc of Majin-Boo (ドラゴンボール改カイ魔ま人じんブウ編へん, Doragon Bōru Kai Majin Bū-hen) or just Dragon Ball Kai. The Japanese voice kai (改かい) in the name of the series means "updated", "modified" or "altered".
